Honors & Awards
The Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at UCSC has a long history of distinguished and prestigious accomplishments. The graduate program in Earth sciences was ranked 19th in a survey of U.S. doctoral programs in the sciences published by U.S. News and World Report, and 10th for the subfield of geophysics and seismology.
Our department's faculty includes three members of the National Academy of Sciences and three members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers have also received numerous national and international awards for their outstanding achievements and contributions.
